AI Platform Stats - June 2026 | Inner Web Solutions
AI Platform Usage Statistics — June 2026
AI Platform Usage Statistics — June 2026
Important Note
There is no single measurement that shows the exact percentage of all AI users assigned to each platform.
Various studies listed measure different categories, including:
- Primary AI platform
- Platform used during the previous month
- Worldwide chatbot activity
- Website traffic
- Mobile-app users
- Time spent using each platform
Many people use more than one AI platform, so some percentages should not be added together.
Primary AI Platform Among U.S. AI Users
This category measures which platform users considered their main AI assistant.
ChatGPT: 58.2%
Google Gemini: 25.4%
Claude: 7.0%
Microsoft Copilot: 4.1%
Grok: 1.8%
Meta AI: 0.6%
DeepSeek: 0.6%
Perplexity: 0.5%
ChatGPT was the main AI platform for nearly three out of every five U.S. AI users.
Gemini was the main platform for approximately one-quarter of users.
Claude ranked third, with 7.0% of users identifying it as their primary AI assistant.
AI Platforms Used During the Previous Month
This category measures whether a person used each platform at least once during the previous month.
Users could select more than one platform.
ChatGPT: 85.7%
Google Gemini: 77.4%
Microsoft Copilot: 35.0%
Claude: 34.1%
Meta AI: 20.5%
Grok: 19.9%
Perplexity: 10.1%
DeepSeek: 9.7%

These percentages should not be added together because many people used several AI platforms.
For example, one person might use ChatGPT for general questions, Claude for coding and Gemini for Google-related tasks.
Worldwide AI Chatbot Activity Share
This category measures observed worldwide chatbot activity and referrals. It is not a direct count of unique users.
ChatGPT: 76.87%
Google Gemini: 7.94%
Perplexity: 7.91%
Claude: 3.74%
Microsoft Copilot: 3.49%
DeepSeek: 0.03%
ChatGPT accounted for more than three-quarters of measured worldwide AI chatbot activity.
Gemini and Perplexity each accounted for approximately 8%.
Claude accounted for approximately 4%.
These figures may favour platforms that send users to external websites more frequently.
AI Chatbot Activity Share in Canada
ChatGPT: 67.90%
Google Gemini: 11.41%
Microsoft Copilot: 9.79%
Claude: 5.68%
Perplexity: 5.05%
DeepSeek: 0.13%
ChatGPT remained the leading AI platform in Canada, but its Canadian activity share was lower than its worldwide share.
Gemini, Copilot and Claude each had a larger percentage of activity in Canada than they did in the worldwide results.
Worldwide AI Website Ranking
The leading standalone AI websites in June 2026 were ranked as follows:
- ChatGPT
- Google Gemini
- Claude
- DeepSeek
- Grok
This ranking measures direct website traffic.
It does not include every way people access AI, such as mobile apps, workplace software, search engines, APIs or social-media integrations.
Mobile-App Usage
ChatGPT exceeded an estimated one billion monthly active mobile-app users in May 2026.
Claude had approximately 56 million monthly active mobile-app users during the second quarter of 2026.
Estimated year-over-year app growth:
Claude: approximately 640%
ChatGPT: approximately 62%
Claude had a much smaller mobile audience than ChatGPT, but its growth rate was substantially higher.
Average Monthly Mobile Engagement
Estimated monthly time spent per user:
ChatGPT: approximately 215 minutes
Claude: approximately 120 minutes
Google Gemini: approximately 100 minutes
ChatGPT users spent the most time in the mobile app.
Claude users spent more time in the app than Gemini users, despite Claude having a smaller overall audience.
Primary AI Platform for Coding Tasks
ChatGPT: approximately 39%
Claude: approximately 33%
Google Gemini: approximately 15%
Claude’s overall primary-platform share was approximately 7%, but its share for coding-related tasks was approximately 33%.
This indicates that Claude had a much stronger position among programmers and software developers than it did in the general consumer market.
